One knows these nature-sweet wines since the antique.
They are won from the Muscat à petits grains blancs (Grenache), a very aromatic type of grape.
Since 1898 the name is legally protected and since 1914 prescribes a list the type of grapes, which are used for the production of these wines.
The manufacturing process is a special: The grade of maturity may not do less than 252 gram of sugar amounted to (14°), the alcohol content is between 15 and 18% volume.

wine is lower than 14 percent
I don't know many people who enjoy wines that have more than 14% alcohol, it's just not wine anymore it's vermouth in my opinion.
