wsis - hacking a dictatorship
talk description
An fair and internal view of the wsis congress PDF 840 kB
The biggest problem in my opinion is that diplomats have to deal and talk with technical guys.

22c3 day 3
It is definitely too much input here
After a night beside a snoring guy I am now a bit tired.
The first session covers the problems with video observation at the BCC.
See a good summary in german here.
After that very interesting and necessary discussion fravia presented his yearly searching session. The actual slides are not online, but he presented similar sildes in Montreal, Canada in June 2005. It is always amazing to realize that originally the web was build to share! If you put something in ... it is there
It isn't possible to delete it (says fravia)

Sony got root?
Since last november, Sony delivers CDs worldwide (mainly US) with a copy protection system (about 4.000.000 CDs sold until now). The problem is that the copy protection installs a rootkit on the pc (Windows, OSX).
Inbuild in the protection tool are some *phone home* functions.
The presentation is a summary of the story until now.
https://events.ccc.de/congress/2005/fahrplan/events/1132.en.html
The presenters will put the whole story on a public webpage in german language after the talk.
Hier schonmal eine kleine Zusammenfassung bei heise in deutsch

lightning talks
I like lightning talks. It is always interesting to have a few 5 minute presentations about upcoming projects, ideas and other stuff.
Everyday at 4pm is lightning talk time at 22c3.
Sometimes the 5 minute presentations starts with the words.
I have no slides but a good idea!
or
I will reboot my linux machine to connect it with the projector
Two interesting projects for me were:
1. The start of the development of a mobile jabber client application. If you are interested in:
http://www.mabber.com
It will be a mixture of open source and commercial business model.

the power of wiki and beer
a wiki is a good place to solve the real world problems
An example:
The more or less official Food page (Human beings (normally) have at least to drink, eat and breathe.)
http://events.ccc.de/congress/2005/wiki/Food
and the BeerHack (what a conclusion
)

Squeak
Squeak is a *media authoring tool*-- software that you can download to your computer and then use to create your own media or share and play with others.
An interesting presentation held by Markus Denker
