First fieldtrip... the begin of understanding

time for a little update!

Yesterday i did my first fieldtrip, and know i have to change my plans

It is not possible here to drive a good working plan... so have to renew mine. First some of the equipment showed up one hour later than it supposed to be here. Thats how it started. And than the day before (on monday) we had a nice monsoon rain so the visibility in the water was around 2.5 m which isn't really a lot and makes working just harder... Is good for my study because we assume a direct river discharge with neg. influence on the reefs during rainy season. Second our old markers in the reef are stolen by local fisherman, so we have throwbacks at this point. And third some of the local equipment is so bad that it is dangerous to use it or just you don't get any data...

So i see my first fieldtrip as a test run, will adapt everything to it and prepared for the next time... we will see, here you should expect surprises all the time. So i need to go to Saigon, or call it Ho-Chi-Minh City does't really matter is just older people still using Saigon and for writing it's shorter anyway... But to come back i need to get some sample bottles so will take a 12 h busdrive- one direction- for 400 km to get them... hope that my life will be easier after that

So the monsoon on monday was really nice, with a lot of thunderstorm and such an amound of rain that the water was up to 20-30 cm high onthe streets, just like rivers it's kind of funny because the chaos gets even worser. Hard to imagin but possible... 

Right now is lunchtime...and i have still to clean up everything... so will write some more later...
