More than 100 drivers in Austin, Texas found their cars disabled or the horns honking out of control earlier this month, after an intruder ran amok in a web-based vehicle immobilization system normally used to get the attention of consumers delinquent in their auto payments.

Seit ein paar Wochen ist Chrome auch auf dem Mac mein Standardbrowser. Die Zahl der Erweiterungen ist auch dort recht umfang- und hilfreich (hörst Du das, Microsoft?). Nicht hilfreich ist allerdings, daß die eine oder andere Erweiterung ungewollt und unnötig in die Darstellung von Webseiten eingreift.

Als leidenschaftlicher delicious-Nutzer habe ich natürlich sofort eine Delicious-Erweiterung für Chrome genutzt. Doch durch einen Zufall mußte ich feststellen, daß das keine gute Idee war. Mir sind schon seit Tagen die Inline-Styles aufgefallen, die das Plugin in jede (!) Seite schreibt. Konnte ich das noch ignorieren staunte ich heute nicht schlecht, als das Ergebnis des Acid3-Tests leicht zerschossen aussah, obwohl der Browser ihn zu 100% erfüllte.

Ich weiss nicht, was diese Erweiterung genau tut, aber offenbar verändert sie über Gebühr eine besuchte Webseite. Diese Erkenntnis ärgert mich, wenn ich daran denke, daß das Testen von Webseiten entscheidend von Browsererweiterungen abhängt. Wenn diese nicht sauber programmiert wurden, kann man während des Debugging zu falschen Schlüssen kommen.

Nachtrag: Die Erweiterung “Delicious Bookmarks” scheint besser zu funktionieren. Die offizielle ist noch im Alpha- oder Beta-Stadium und bei mir auf dem Mac vollkommen unbrauchbar.

Drupal Buch und Video-Training ausverkauft

Es hört sich ja schon ein wenig eigenartig an in der heutigen Zeit, stimmt aber. Beide Produkte sind definitiv verkauft. Ein paar Reste liegen noch im Buchhandel und bei video2brain gibt es noch ein paar Video-Trainings. Sogar ein eBook gibt es jetzt bei Addison Wesley. Das ist natürlich auch noch erhältlich - (Link zum eBook).

Auf der Website http://drupal.cocoate.com ist nach wie vor das gesamte Buch online lesbar. Es behandelt Drupal in der Version 6 und ist im Sommer 2008 geschrieben worden. Inhaltlich ist das Allermeiste auch heute noch gültig und richtig.

Ich glaube es ist an der Zeit ein neues Buch über die Version Drupal 7 zu schreiben und ein neues Video-Training aufzunehmen :-)
